Typical wiring configuration for the Troyke rotary table consist of a pneumatic solenoid valve, pneumatic pressure switch, limit switch, interface cabling, servomotors and servo amplifiers. Troyke Rotary Tables and electrical systems are CE rated.

The pneumatic solenoid valves used are wired to energize to clamp or energize to unclamp. They are available in 24VDC, 110VAC, and 120VAC to accommodate common electrical signals used by machine tool controls. These valves are equipped with new oval high pull magnets, built in LED for on / off verification and built in surge suppression.

The pneumatic pressure switch with built in bi-color LED to give visual verification of clamp and unclamp of the rotary table braking system is provided on all units.

A zero return or deceleration switch and trip style actuators are provided on all systems that do not have absolute encoders mounted to the end of the servomotor. In systems where absolute encoders are used it is not necessary to provide a mechanical switch to find the HOME position.

Interface cables are designed with specific machine controls and servo amplifiers in mind. Troyke supplies interface cables from the motor enclosure box to a panel mount connector located in the roof of the machining center. The cables from the panel in the roof of the machining center to the servo amplifier is the responsibility of the servo amplifier supplier. Turn-key systems on newer fanuc machine controls are available.

Typical cable assembly configurations consist of two cables:

One cable that contains:

  1. servo motor armature and ground leads
  2. 24VDC, 110VAC, or 120VAC solenoid leads
  3. pneumatic pressure switch leads
  4. zero return HOME switch leads

The other cable contains servo motor position feedback leads.

There are many cable configurations available. You must refer to the proper cable wiring diagram for a given unit. We can identify the wiring diagram by the lot number located on the tag on the side of the rotary table base.

The servo motor used is directly related to the machine control, servo amplifier or M-function control box that the rotary table system is designed to operate in.

The servo motor, electrical wiring and components are protected from invasion of coolant and debris by a closed cell high density gasket on the motor enclosure. In the event that coolant enters the enclosure, there is a drain and vent hole to disperse moisture and condensation. The motor enclosure is designed to accommodate all Machine Tool OEM control and motor configurations and cabling is easily fitted to the motor enclosure lid.

WARNING: Always power the machine and control down before connecting or disconnecting the interface cables. Failer to do so will result in major damage to the electrical system. It is crucial that you shut the machine down before installing or servicing the rotary table
